Mission Statement
By working together, we ensure every child can achieve their potential in a safe and supportive environment. As a school we will lay the foundations of a lifelong love of learning in all our children and help all our members of Cornholme School to persevere and believe in their abilities. Cornholme School aims to be involved in the wider community of Cornholme, Todmorden and beyond.
At Cornholme School We Will....
Be Ready!
Be Responsible!
Be Respectful!
We have been recognised as a Music Mark school! This accolade is awarded to schools who use music, through curriculum lessons, assemblies, and extra-curricular activities, to enrich their pupils' school experience. Cornholme School has a long-standing history of appreciating music and the many ways it can add enrichment to both school life, and life beyond school. We love to listen to music in the mornings before assembly, we enjoy singing together in assembly and in our choir endeavours, our orchestra continues to thrive and all this is in addition to the music lessons everyone participates in, in school. A special thank you to Mr Williamson and Mrs Aherne who champion music for us at every opportunity!
We have launched a new reading incentive in school for all children to participate in. Each time the children read their book at home they will earn a raffle ticket for the half-termly raffle draw, the more raffle tickets earned the greater the chance of winning the prize!
Monday lunchtimes see the return of Football Club, run by Coach Will from Burnley Football Club. This club is open to children in Years 4, 5 & 6, if your child would like to attend please sign up on Arbor - only 15 places are available per week!
We currently have a vacancy for the role of Parent Governor on our Governing Board. If you are interested in this position please contact the school office.
Park Play sessions are available every Saturday morning from 10am - 12pm on Portsmouth Recreation Ground, offering fun and games for all children.
